how to insert in 404 a library of drum

hello guys, I have a sp-404.

Can we give me some advice on how to have a library of drum on my sampler

I thought putting in the bank c / g (all kick and snare) and the bank d / h (all hits and percussion) ...

But this system is inconvenient because I use to compose beats the remaining bank... e/i and f/j

so when I choose kick / snare and other drum in the bank c/g d/h I have to copy everything in the bank and / if / j.

this be very unnerving 4 me...

I now ask:

you, as you have your drum kit in the sp-404?

used the loop?

Use the same technique as I do... or other?

I would focus on spreading your samples in a useful way across the pads, instead of trying to sort your different drum hits per genre.

For example;

PadBank A:
Pad 1-4: Kicks
Pad 5-8: Snare
Pad 9-12: hi/hat /shakers/claps etc.

PadBank B:
Pad 1-4: extra (drum) instruments
Pad 5-8: samples
Pad 9-12: samples

Then build a beat from PadBank A and B.

Possible remove samples you don't use and you could use PadBank C for resampling FX on your SP-404.

The example is just one of many ways you can work on your SP-404, but I would advise against loading entire drumkits onto your SP-404 where PadBank A is full with only kicks or snares etc..

But say you, how you doing? always use the same libraries of "drum"?

or you have several memory cards with different drum?

I want to select my best drum and put in my SP404 in the most convenient way possible to use them on the bank where then do samples.

Nope, I don't have drums on there that I always use. I do however have a drumkit on the internal memory of my SP-404 that I use to quickly try out some stuff.

I tend to delete samples I don't use anymore all the time though and use new drums for just about every new beat I make on the sp-404.

I sample from a record, try to create a coherent drum kit, build a beat and remove everything after that.

In other words, I don't really build a library of samples on my SP-404 that I will be using over and over again.

I do back-up samples made on the SP-404 if I am going to use them in my Roland MV8800 in a different project or if they're simply of a very good quality.

Obviously I will save the best drum kit samples, but I am not using the SP-404 to 'store' them on memory cards.
