anyone experiencing problems with the 555 and windows 7

i got a new laptop yesterday and i hooked it up to my sp and you gotta do all this crap with the sound mixer now, that you didnt have to do with windows xp (sucks). but im hearing this really weird quiet tick waaaaaay in the background of my headphones. like id have fruityloops open and when i select it to use my 555 as a soundcard i hear this little buzzing tick. its really annoying. ill mess around with it for a hile and hope to figure something out. has anyone experienced this as well?
