this was super tough. kel's was a straight up classic banger, but i was also feeling cerpin taxt's unique flip. i like kel's drum treatment and the use of the sub trick. and i liked cerpin's effect tweaks and quirky rendering. i literally flipped a coin (no really), and voted for cerpin taxt.

great job to all and i hope to see everyone back for the next one.

First off dope battle mad props to all who participated, After listening to all the beats twice, lawrence: really digging your chops namely the piano type sound, and the drums were dope also, kels: overall dope headnodder really feeling the sub, cerpin taxt : really enjoyed the beats second transition i had a nice little rap to it,IIIII: drums never were repetitive really liked the third transition of your beat was a mellow listen to smoke one to,blindfold dope anticon esque beats had nice dimension to it also i mellow listen, blacksnow's had a nice free feel to it with a nice original flip,

But, to me it came down to elhuana and ormo; Ormo  crazy ass fuck sounded like a alien 80's sitcom version of the fresh prince in a good robotic mesculine trip way , elhuana you can just tell hes mastered his sampler, he was rocking the effects like some lord beatjitsu shit and had me nodding my head like yesteryear

i voted elhuana

Antee - dope beat, I especially dig the bass here! Doesn't sound very lazy at all ;)

BlackSnow - solid beat, try to bring out the drums a bit more

Blindfold - :?: lame son, you call that a beat?

CerpinTaxt - nice effects, it all works well together and has some cool changes

Elhuana - although it sounds strangely lo-fi your beat has a certain appeal; well sampled and lots of changes!

IIIII - awesome humming bass and not the everyday drum pattern. The middle part is off the hook, dope work man!

Kel - nice, chilled out vibe

Lawrence One Three - straight forward beat with loads of good samples in there, good work

Looplover - not bad at all for the first entry!

Ormo - crazy stuff dude, what's going on here? :o

wundrkut - sounds a bit choppy, has got some nice surprises, though

Hm, it's hard to pick one with so many warriors in the arena but my vote goes to IIIII for making my headphone shake with that bassline and those smooth arangements :o

Nice one everybody!

I had to go with Lawrence OneThree. The chops were real good and you got the snare rolls in there and it sounded just right. Nice work everybody!

Antee: Very dope swing as always, good stuff. You made sure the beat always stayed the main thing, with a more minimalistic use of the sample. That's been a good idea IMHO, sounds dope!

BlackSnow: Not bad at all! :) Volume is too low and while the drums are pretty tight, the sample chops and sequencing isn't quite right. The sample chops feels a bit random.

Cerpin Taxt: Digging the usage of FX and the stuttery melody. Dope beat!

Elhuana: Good chops of the sample!

IIIII: Nice drums, pretty clean mix too. Good job. I really dig the drums at about 2/3 of your beat.

kel: Good beat dynamics. It all fits chop-wise and overall great production values.

Lawrence: Digging that rolling snare beat there. Solid rhythm too, I like it.

Looplover: Cool stuff. Sounds a bit too experimental for my taste, but you'll get there, knowing this is your first entry.

ormo: I didn't felt that intro, but I like the stutters and faster rhythm halfway through a lot. Has a reasonably good sound on that woodlike snare too. Nice job!

wundrkut: Solid beat, but I had a feeling you could do better. The sample stabs aren't too bad, but I felt it used up a bit too much space.

Lots of great beats as evident by votes being all over the place, so yeah, good battle! I'm going to vote for Lawrence this time, but it's been a very close call. IIIII and Cerpin Taxt made some serious heat too.
