What is the best place/mood to make beats for you?
giving everyone an outlook on other things.

i prefer bad weather....the floor....bag of cheetos and a shit load of green tea.

used to be: first thing in the morning, no coffee, no food, keep working til i nearly pass out.

now: all evening, about 8pm til 3am or so, well-fed, herbs, lots of breaks where i leave the gear on and take off for a bit to rest the ears.

almost always in my little studio.

Shit rainy day, like any time after 5. Go down the road for some snacks, smoke a spliff, make some music.

i completely forgot that adderall was just a mix of amphetamines, until my doctor prescribed it that is....

its like woah...the doctor wants me to take speed? wtf?

first time i was on it i think i made like 90 presets for a synth in a half hour

early morn: two shots of espresso over ice, chain smoking bong loads,my cat cohen chillen behind my chair, my lady at law school, and the house to myself, in the office with the blinds closed.

late night: after work made some dank food, eat, smoke myself stupid enough to get over my anxiety from work, play some new kraut rock finds while making dinner and smoking myself retarded, then headphones in the office

I only follow a strict routine when it's battle-time. the night before, i import the samples to my ipod, charge my batteries, pack up my 404, RCAs, couple joints, couple 99 bananas shots and a lighter. then i lay out my clothes for the next day, set my alarm for 4:30 am, drink some beers and fall alseep. Wake up at 4:30, grab all that shit and walk down to the L.A. "river" . there's some bleachers next to a baseball field and that's where i smoke out and do the battle while it's still dark out.

i can't work at home cuz i have to be alone to do it, which is NEVER the case.

Hema, i've been thinking about taking a shot at standing up when working, maybe getting a taller table. what kind of advantages do you have working this way?
