Ahh, the good old MPC4000. I'm still so disappointed in Akai about how the MPC5000 turned out to be.

From the looks of it many others are too looking at that price they're selling it for. It's easily worth as much as Akai's selling their new MPC5000 for, that says a whole lot.

If Akai's got balls, they would pull the MPC5000, admit their mistakes and do a remake, taking their time and making sure it actually beats their previous flagship sampler (and Roland's MV series). :|

Of course, then I'd be happy to see a reaction from Roland's side blowing that machine out of the water again.

the 4000 looks really nice, not so much for sample based beats but as a live MIDI sequencer for a hardware rig

big as hell though!

I just meant the shape of the case when you look at it from above like in that picture..., then the pads and screen are kinda the same position too

ah yeah for real

saw a live pa last year with a MPC 4k, dude had two racks of gear controlled from it. god only knows how long it took him to set it all up. he was completely on top of things via the MPC though

this is a Youtube of the party: check Son of Zev image
