I know there's at least one guy from Poland on here and maybe some other peeps have been there so I'll try my luck.
Me and my friends are going to spend our holidays in northern Poland near Gdansk. We'll be living in a neat house near a lake, with a boat and all that stuff. After that week there we wanna go to Gdansk for a few days. Can anyone recommend some cool stuff to see or do there or in the region around Gdansk? Maybe we'll be driving down to Warszawa as well so any tipps for that great city are very welcome! Would also be cool if we could see if there're some gigs we can go to or something.

yo blindfold, I#ve been to Gdansk like 2 times looong time ago, so I cant pretty much remember anything from there. However dont sleep on that city cuz it#s really charming for sure ( like the most polish cities ). Unfortunately, for many ppl from around the world, Poland is just a western part of Siberia...
If you decide to visit Warsaw I#d be happy to be your guide there
PM me for more info
On your way back home I definitely recommend Wroclaw (Breslau ) and Krakow ( If you have extra time for that one )
Peace man
It's fucking irritating that this stereotype is still one of the most popular.
but on the other hand im happy that the Germans are the ones who loose their cars - not other way round
peace!

*lol* @ Wax
kaum gestohlen schon in Polen ;D
But seriously, we first planned to drive down to southern France but decided that we don't have enough money to go for that. Some of my friends were concerned about Poland being boring and the car might being stolen or broken into. And the driver's mother was even more concerned, I almost thought she'd blow the whole thing (she's the legal owner of the car).
But the majority of us was aware that the golden polish car-stealing days are over and that there's as few crimes over there as here in Germany and the rest are all just stupid prejudices. I'm excited to get to know some eastern European culture first hand, cause the only time I've been to the east of Germany was to Slovakia when I was 10 or so. We could get a coke there for like 5 cents
.
The trips to Warsaw and Gdansk depend on us finding a good, cheap hostel there but I don't think they're really expensive, so there's a good chance we'll hit that cities.
