Hip Hop transformed Roger Linn's early drum machines into sample flipping creation stations. I would like to translate Roger Linn's recent statement about the Linn Drum 2 into casual street-speak.
Here goes*
"With this recession shit no one is trying to drop a new drum sampler that will be like an MPC with an intricate analog filter block and would prolly cost $3500. The Dave Smith synths already do well, so he's not really down to collab anymore on a device that is more a continuation of my legacy. The design is so ill, but I can't snitch on myself and have Roland, Korg and the Beat Kangz lifting my ideas, so don't bother asking any questions- shit is top secret- I can't even tell you when it will be out (never) so check out my guitar pedals"
Peace~ R.L.

Re: Roger Linn and the Linn 2
pretty accurate summary you got there
i would like to see them allow you do trigger a noise generator, given all those crazy lfos, filters and distortion

Yeah, there probably won't be for a while too, as it's apparently still very much in it's design phase. They haven't even decided on what the final features should be.
