Old School Tip

Post by hurlingdervish »

Say you want to get some heavy groove action going on in the higher tempos 130-160 but when you try it sounds robotic or too slow for the swing feel

so record the loop at 90 bpm or something slow where you know you can funk the groove then speed it up, or speed it up and resample and speed it up again

that way you get those really fast swung hihats and beat that is pretty much impossible to tap out

pretty old school tip, but yea it works wonders

It works the other way around too! If you have too fast of fingers (too much coffee), you can record a beat at 130 bpm easy and then slow it down to hip hop speed.
