Yo Diabase you playing anymore shows or beat battles in san diego anytime soon, want to check out the rawness in person hopefully this time without a loud ass hype man. ummm not in s.d. at the moment,but im puttin together a beat tape full of 404 beats and will definitely drop on the forums first. but everything else is through paypal. i got that show on thursday battlin j biz again. the infamous rematch of the red bull battle.lol. thank u i appreciate that fam.

what's your process for preparing beats to be played live?
seems you move in and out of Pattern Mode on the SP;
have you got individual hits in pattern sequences (chop 1, chop 2, kick, snare etc), or have you tracked out whole channels onto separate pads of the SP?
maybe a mix of both hey

i simultaneously put the kick with the sample chop on the mpc then import to the sp,but i guess with the resample function on the sp play the sample whole while programin the kick and snare. then chop that seperately.
chop + kick then snare and hihat on loop. then vocal efx here and there. i also do that on the mpc, but the sp is so portable and the efx is off the chain. still learnin and addin to the live set.

I wondered how you track out your beats man? Them hihats and snares are always sounding so fresh in stereo... What do you do with them? Some kinda stereo enhancer or chorus or sth.?

wait a min... did I get this right... you lay down your kicks directly under the chops (via resample) ??? Never thought of that ish... but how do you mix shit up afterwards if kick and sample are one sound.... ???

them live beats like that i dont record it. its just for shows. but some beats i make in reason 4 or the mpc 2000xl. but sometimes i would program beats on the 404 but track it as i go into cubase. then export seperately into reason and use some of reason compression and efxs. for the stereo efx. but lately i been going raw from the sp to cubase.
