Can P606 output sound to other soundcards?

I was checking out the P606 the other day, and it seemed I had to route the sound via the SP-606; I am aware that the SP is needed in order to run P606, but I was hoping I didn't need to hook up the SP to my mixer. In other words I'd like the P606 to output its sound through my Emu soundcard. Is this possible?

btw: can I load VST's in P606?

I don't think you can do this...
maybe if you have digital input on the EMU,it would be the best way to connect the 606...

Vst plugins such us EQ,compressor can easily be routed in P606 via the Dx-wrapper,
but i never found a way to output the sound of a vst-i (vst instruments)

Hmm, so the sound of the P606 must go into the SP-606, and from there to a mixer/monitors? Why won't it accept the output of VSTi's? Very strange. I'll have a closer look at this asap.

i'm guessing your using a windows pc, in that case u might be best served using your 606 as its own soundcard through usb. check the manual for the specifics on how to set everything up.

Yeah, I was hoping I didn't have to hook up the SP to my monitors, though. Looks like there's no way around it.

You can try this if you have some time:
I used to record directly from P606 to Ableton live by selecting in P606 the wdm driver and in AbletonLive the dx driver(or the asio)...maybe IF ONLY ableton lets you use different IN(the 606dx) and outs(the EMU) it might work...
it's just an idea..!
