What mixer are you using and why?

Or

What mixer would you like to have someday?

I'll start off I am actually between mixers at the moment as I have just sold my Behringer Eurorack 2004A. It had plenty of channels (20) and was cheap enough 2nd hand on the 'Bay but it was really noisy so it had to go!

I am looking at buying a Mackie DFX6 at the moment, which seems to have everything I want on it and I have read some good reviews. It's Digital, small enough to easily fit on my desktop, has some decent onboard FX to play with and being a Mackie it's built like a tank!

Eventually I would like to have a Korg Zero 8 or maybe a 2nd hand Yamaha 01X and maybe try moving to a hybrid software/hardware setup but I have not got the time or cash to get into all that right now, so it's hardware all the way for me...

the mackie onyx. It's around 500 bucks but has parametric EQ.

I've got a Behringer Eurorack UB1204FX-PRO, which is a fairly large analog hardware mixer with a built-in digital effects processor. I'm going to daisy chain my 303, 404 and the UB1204FX and do some crazy mad effects processing with my samples!

I always hear negative things about Behringer products. Mostly cheaply made and static in the outputs

They do have some clangers but a lot of their products are very good too. With behringer, try before you buy is essential. Most people just don't like the idea that something cheap could be any good!

I've got an Alto analogue mixer, which is like Italian behringer...lol :lol:

Good enough, but I've outgrown the number of inputs, so I'm looking at the Behringers now (Future Music magazine says they're good, and FM is my bible).

im wary of behringer products too,

but I've heard of a few people using their mixers and no complaints..

The Behringer UB series mixers are decent and I have heard a lot of good things about the Xenyx gear. I used to have a Behringer Compressor which was useless. My bandmate bought a couple of the FX pedals which are complete pants and he has a Virtualiser Pro which is a really cool piece of gear. I definately agree with 606man, try before you buy, or get a few reviews first as they make some good stuff but there is some crap mixed in there as well!

I think the xenyx is an upgraded UB, so they should be fine / better.

I was thinking of picking up the battery powered one, but it only has a mono effects send. . lame!

i use behringer xenyx 1204FX in the studio and behringer eurorack ub-1002 in the studio and live performance.
i dont have problems with these models. :wink:

i hate how these always end in an arguement about if behringer is good or bad(like on future-producers, for example).

i would love the zero8!!! that is one sweet looking mixer. how bout the km-402 thats coming, it looks more fun than absolutely useful though.

i am also shopping for a mixer and have noticed that most people like mackie and soundcraft for cleanliness, and yamaha for most functions for a low price.

i lost a bidding war on a soundcraft compact4 and i'm a little bummed bout that. contemplating the tapco blend6 but it has only high/low eq.
anybody got the blend6, is it any good?

If your doing dirty hiphop... a dirty mixer shouldnt be a problem

But anyway, I have behringer im borrowing but it get little to no use. I have a Yamaha i88X that I use in conjunction with Live as my mixer for now. I dont want to get a Xenyx 4 bus mixer to go with my 4 track reel to reel. Lookin foward to that....all analog mixing, then master the 2 track on the computer !

I'm actually without a mixer : everything goes through the 404, using the Mic input for Mic/trumpet/guitar, and line input for my synth.
Then the 404 goes in alesis midiverb 4, for main effects (usually reverb or delay).
