Biggest collaboration ever?

Post by hurlingdervish »

i have been thinking about LARGE collaborations. something that has never been done in electronic/hiphop music

what if every active member submitted a 1-2 bar loop at a certain tempo and key?

then i collect those in to a zip for everyone to download?

songs would then be submitted in the same thread .

the only limitation would be that it cant just be a straight sampled loop from a song, it would have to be somehow touched upon to give it your steez

does this sound like fun or what? suggestions and ideas welcome.

you can submit whatever because no one is forced to use it. so i could just throw a high pass on your four to the floor over a slower beat

it'd be cool if you could not just limit it to one bpm, like have a second part or something with a really slow bpm for peeps like me who like slow beats :)
but then again that's just me, i'm cool with any bpm except those gay +150 bpm beats or whatever.

The human heart beats around 140 bpm, so if you think about it that's the ideal tempo for any person to catch the rhythm. Besides the fact that you can be at 140 bpm and just double your pattern length and BAM you got a 70 bpm slow jam track that will beat match to 140 bpm perfectly. Just a thought

yea they should be separated by bpm or else it will be too random. the first one should be 140/70 as you can do the most with it
that way hip hop and electro cats can contribute as there are alot of genres and artists that do 140 bpm

what do you guys think for a key? i was thinking C minor as most people know it
if you dont

C D D# F G G# A# C

or G# major which is the same thing just starting on g# instead of C

G# A# C D D# F G G#
