What Mixer to record MPC/SP war??!!?

Post by ellaguru »

hi
i want to start to record in sync my sp-505 sp-303 and mpc-1000 black (new arrived, i sold my mpc 500). i need a 3/4 channel mixer with eq in every channel. the mixer will go into a Fast track pro or a Tascam dp 01 fx.
someone told me about BEHRINGER ub1002. do you know it? what kind of mixer you use?

peace (and love) :)

buy a mixer with some good preamps to make your sound improve. Behringer is not they way to go in that case...

@Felix Tha Kat

I've heard that the Xenyx line does sound better than the Euroracks from Behringer. I used to have a behringer dj mixer and it was fine, low noise, decent eq and what not. They go pretty cheap.

Alesis has a usb mixer out for around $100 or so. One of the Multimix series. It's not hard to get an ok mixer fairly cheap nowdays.

hey thanx
someone here told me about Tapco Mix 260 FX, a sub label from Mackie...it seems that Tapco "Mix" series is not bad...

...yes maybe, but i'm totally ignorant about this subject; i've always recorded directly into pc, recorders or audio interface...

other mixers:

Soundcraft Compact 4 & Yamaha MG8/2FX. anyone?

anyway, for me internal fx are not important, i'll do the stuff in the pc or in the tascam 8 track recorder. the real important thing is that the mixer mustn't do no noise. dot.

i saw also a Tapco mix 60. 2 stereo ins + 2 mono ins = 3 stereo ins; every channel with eq, send/return dedicated for external fx. not bad and the price too.

What ever you put in the channel thats what u get so if u have Effects from lets say the SP you will hear them oh yeah and its a 12 channel mixer 4 mono/4 stereo You can only EQ the 4 mono Channels But theres an Effects knob on all channels And IMO The FX Is way better than any PC FX i have ever used!!!!! Ive used PC for so long Im really diggin the Hardware Route im more hands on type of person anyway fuck clickin the mouse all day lol

Code: Select all

anyway fuck clickin the mouse all day lol
that's what i'm exactly thinking...so i bought sp-303 sp-404 sp-505 sp-606 from november 2008 to march 2009...now i'm selling sp-606. i'm looking also for a pseudo groovebox; maybe the roland D2 and the yamaha qy70 (see elhau good youtube videos!) could be the next machines to keep me away from pc.
anyway Felix, most people i ask about Behringer Xenyx 1202 FX, they don't seem really happy to descibe it, above all for its -they say- noisy channel gain.

peace

Heck yes, talking about a no-mouse philosophy,... the more I'm getting into my MV, the less I feel like using the mouse with it... it works at least equally as comfortable if you know how to use the short-cut keys and dial efficiently. 8)
