That 'Ol Sampletrak Shit

Post by adru »

Juxt seems to have created some curiosity over the zoom sampletrak--thought i'd put up a couple beats i did a little less than a year ago with it before i got my sp...no software or plug ins, these were just straight out of the machine into a cd burner...i'm thinking of beefing them up though with some software,etc..and using em on some upcoming projects.I got mad beats laying around that i did on that machine that no ones really heard,lol.....come through if you got some time...peace & respect

"Hiding" is just awesome man! Really good work with this one.
I like "Gone" also.

I would like to put my hands on this sampletrak also :)
But I've never seen it anywhere in Poland :/

thanks man..Spokanes semi- decent-kind of like a scaled down kansas city--all old buildings and kinda tore down, but it has character..and at least i'm finally in a decent city again as opposed to where i was at for a while in kansas.its nice to walk down the street and actually see people i can relate to again.i cant fucking wait till seattle though...and yea, that sampletrak really is an ill machine if you can get a hold of one.peace

WTF? How do these things continually happen in my life?lol-this thread is what,2 years old? I'm saying this because I just got a new sampletrak 3 days ago,lol..putting the finishing touches on my first new sampletrak beat (just got settled in the new crib yesterday) and I was gonna post it up tomorrow or the next day. It's Crazy locotes would bring this up ( : ) - so yea man, I'll be posting this new one, and I'll try to dig up any old ones I got- I only save my shit to cd for the most part- a lot of those old s-trak beats are either lost, or the cd's are scratched to hell. Still got a handful though.

And yea ella- just got the new one, it's so dope to have my hands on it again-sooo many memories behind that machine,it's the 3rd one I've had since 2000 and what i mainly learned on. I had an eps and asr prior-but all I really did on those was loop shit up,really honed my chopping skills on the zoom. DO NOT sleep on this machine-I'm telling yall- every feature your sp's missing? The sampletrak's got it. PERFECT companion for any sp. I love the sound of it too, the compression is a lot less harsh and you can get some real gritty sounding drums on it.the pads are much easier to play in gate mode than the sp too.Only downside is there's only 8 pads(3 banks)-nowadays I use at least 10-12 pads just for my kicks, snares, and hats..... An old friend of mine called the sampletrak an "sp-1200 on steroids",lol.

Anyway, yea- if my life is secretely the Truman Show, someone please let me know.

yes! i use it mainly for drums, but recently i also use it for timestretching samples 'cause i found a trick to do it bmp-precisely (pad+tap give you the bpm of the sample when you use the timestretching effect).

and you know what? with Formal we make a sort of prototype battery thing (that i use also for the sp303) to use the st224 anywhere (here's the thread in the spforums http://sp-forums.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4448&start=30 and there is another one on the st forums too...)

sweet! :D I liked the overall sound quality of the beats. Just sounded really heavy and full sounding.

father time, jazz fist, move through me, apple fields

were my favorite tracks
