spdif vs. usb?

when recording from ur sp 606 into something like cool edit or audacity... does spdif produce noticably better sound quality than usb?... thinking of buying a cable but the fuckin thing costs 30-40 bucks... Need to know if its worth it.. Thanks!

Anything is better than RCA cables, except line in/out cables.

Oh, well than I say USB is just fine. Spdif and USB are both digital signals so there probably isn't much of a difference.

Probably not. By the way you don't have to buy Monster or any other expensive SPDIF- a cheapo Hosa will do just fine.

The difference is negligible for sure. Both digital and both equal quality connections basically. You can theoretically get latency related recording issues with USB, but that never happened for me and I sampled through USB all the time with the 606. No worries! :lol:
