delay is a little off

i tried to search for this topic already, with no luck. my problem is, i want to resample a short sound with delay on, but i want the delay to be at the tempo of my pattern. while my pattern is playing and i apply the delay to the sound in realtime, it syncs fine... but obviously i can't resample a pad while the pattern is playing. so when i turn pattern off and prepare to resample, it's noticeably off. does anybody know a trick for this?
