second question of the day - has anyone figured out how to make the 505 default to making the samples 'single' shots rather than 'phrase' shots?
after i sample things, i have to go back in and change the parameters on everything to 'single'. if anyone has found a workaround, i'd be interested in hearing it.
thx.

What Count? Drum is a play mode, like you hit it once and the sample plays to the end, and Phrase is like when you're playing a pattern and you hit the sample, it stretches it to the correct BPM (Which sounds awful 90% of the time!)
I don't know this Fauna, it would be quite useful though, not a problem just changing it manually though...

things seem to come off the clip board as 'single', but sampled in, they seem to be phrases.
if you chop up a beat, the 505 tends to make the chops 'drum' hits.
and nick, naw, its not that big a deal to change it manually, but i'm changing it every time, so i wondered about changing the default.....

yeah... yeah... my bad. I was thinking of what it was without having my machine... totally mixed that up. What I meant was the ones that come off as "drum" also have the "single" setting with em, but I get mixed results as mentioned above.Nicknw wrote:What Count? i think they want you to sample phrases and keep the tempo the same.
i think this actually saves polyphony but no one wants phrases .
anyway reason i didnt care much about switching it to drum cause i was an mpc head before and always switched the samples to mono anyway so was used to an extra step.
