Yes yes we know midi control is "a bitch"....ive never tried but im lookin in2 a interface so i can play/record beats realtime via Cubase etc. type hardware.....any suggestions? any tutorials? please inform.

It depends on what you want to do.
I have a 25-key midi controller for melodies (which can be used to trigger anything via midi) - M-Audio Oxygen 8, cheap as chips on eBay and quite easy to setup in a DAW (Reason especially, it practically set itself up for me).
However, this isn't so nice to make beats with, which is why I'm picking up a Korg padKontrol next month. Check out the videos for it on YouTube, and I'm sure plenty of people here will vouch for it's usefulness.
