How Do I Sample Just A Voice From A Song????

I have the SP 555 and want to do some Girl Talk type of stuff but I can't figure out how to isolate the voice only to put over other samples. Any help or tips would be great! Thank you!

There is a (computer) plugin that I've seen used that worked surprisingly well. Can't remember the name- probably a few...
If you just use the SP it'll be tough. You can use the 'center canceller' FX to do the opposite (nix the voice keep the music) but just isolating the voice will be a toughie.

I've been trying to do this sort of thing myself, too. I got a tip from somebody about this. He said to run the audio through a graphic qualizer and fiddle with the sliders until you can isolate the frequencies for the voices. I haven't tried this yet, though. The EQ's I have are on a beat up old boombox with a five band EQ and GoldWave, which has a 7-band one.

You'll probably need an EQ with at least 15 bands, and may end up making the voice sound kind of tinny like, but I don't know. Try it if you want and hear what happens.

Vocals usually end up in mid rang and high range frequencies... there are ways to rip them using filters and EQs, but basically you'd mess them up bad.

Better search for a capella recordings if you're trying to rip from relatively famous songs.

its not really capable of separating different timbres, only different pitches.

so if there is a guitar, a piano, and a voice all playing the same note at once, you'll just get one chunk
