smart media 128MB, purchase..

Hi.
I have a deal with a person to purchase from him a Smart media 128MB card for 45€. He send me some photos of the card and the card has no label. Is this ok or is a fake card? Also he says is in mint condition, but this looks strange because the production of this card format it has stop many years before. Has anyone some experience on this subject?

In other words, regardless of its authenticity, it's about twice as much as others you can get.

Unfortunately i have to pay taxes, so the price will be similar. My concern is for the functionality of the card. I mean if i loose my data after one month..

With SmartMedia and music gear in general I think the two main criteria are voltage and capacity. Make sure that the device that you are planning to use the card with uses the same card voltage as the card expects and can access the full capacity.

Correct Card Voltage Requirement:
Bear in mind these cards come in either 3.3v or 5.0v

Correct Capacity Requirement:
Bear in mind a lot of the music gear out there can only access cards up to 64MB

my bad, i saw girru posted all those links and thought this was their thread!

you can find a PDF of the user manual for the SP505 online with a quick google search, so just check in there to see what spec smartmedia cards are compatible with your device!

and i'd honestly just judge the condition from the images provided by the seller. memory formats like this, you can tell if the card is in good condition if the gold contacts are shiny, smooth, and free from abrasions/wear and tear

also, ebay has a money back guarantee that requires sellers to provide a refund if the item doesn't match the description no matter what
