How to clean yellow spots on the ceiling?

Hi all, I live in an old house that's over 10 years old and I occasionally get stains on my ceiling. I understand they are mould stains. They usually appear on the kitchen ceiling and may be grease stains, I'm not sure. I have often wondered how to clean yellow spots on the ceiling ? This blog is a good example of how to deal with these stains. At first I tried vacuuming the ceiling, as strange as it sounds. It didn't help me much. Then I started cleaning the ceiling with baking soda and surprisingly it worked. So I advise these methods!
