What happens when you press cancel and delete?

What happens when you press cancel and delete?
I accidentally pressed cancel and delete and noticed dAL pop up and all the banks lit up. I selected a bank then delete began to blink. Not sure what this does. Any idea what that does?

the manual says it deletes all samples/patterns in a bank. Cool, never saw that before.

it formats the memory card.
