sp-555 line input

Hi

I have the following problem: when I connect a synth to my 555 via the line input I barely hear the audio coming from it. Turning the 'line in level' knob doesn't affect the volume so I suspect something is broken. The mic input works fine still. I haven't tried to connect another instrument but I will do when I get the chance. Has anyone an idea on whether this can be fixed?

This might be an obvious thing but did you check if the volume was low on your synth? :p... If your volume on the synth is at the max and your still geting really low sounds then you might have to replace that potentiometer it might be loose and thats why your getting low volume. I think the pot is cheap to replace maybe buy acouple of them incase more goes out. Also try to get the correct potentiometer since i think the volume/line-in level/mic level is differnt than the ctrl knobs.
