SP-505 (might be any other sp) background noise
I got an sp 505, with the boss power supply. When sp is On, it makes an external background noise. It is quiet but this is clearly not normal, and as far as I understand it is a power supply problem. But the power supply is suitable for the characteristics (14V 800mA), what could be the problem? Please, help!
Re: SP-505 (might be any other sp) background noise
The sp505 is A/C as opposed to D/C. So make sure your power supply is A/C I've bought a lot of the HQRP replacements and never had an issue.
If it is a loud hum and not the power supply it is probably cracked solder joints on the rca plugs.
You can always go in and replace all the capacitors if it is just loud white noise. I did that to a old boss drum machine with loud white noise and it sounded clean and new after.
