A Novation Circuit? I saw a Ricky Tinez video where he sequenced his SP-404SX with a Circuit. Can the same be done with a Sampletrak?

hi
i own the great st224 since years, i thnik that normally this sohuld be possible; the machine (the 224) has the "problem" that only when it's in gate mode is able to be sequenced, so this could be a limit: i tried it with the boss dr660, the alesis sr16 and the zoom rt323 (!!) and it didn't worked, maybe for that reason; i used to sequence it with the yamaha an200, the roland mc909 or the akai xr20.
let me know if you try with the Circuit in a shop

You certainly can sequence a SampleTrak with a Circuit, because each of the two synth tracks is a 6-note sequencer with adjustable gate times. The Circuit is even better for sequencing external synths/samplers than the Electribe 2, which messes up the gate times when you overdub notes. The only drawback to using the Circuit as a sequencer is that you lose a synth track.
