yall got tips on how to use the slicer+FLG?

most of the time i just mash it during a resample fx take and hope it works out, sometimes does, sometimes not

any of you got some techniques or more info about it ?

Well..........I've had my sx 3 years & never used the slicer.....UNTIL......the recent wrestlemania battle in the arena.

I had to use my wrestlers intro music which was 80's hard rock...... I couldn't come up with shit...... so I started putting effects on it & came to the slicer......stuck the slicer on it, found a good rythme I liked, sampled it........then chopped it up & made a melody out of it.

So the intro in this battle beat is the song I stuck the slicer on.....the melody is what it turned into. I guess that's 1 tip..... put it on a melody or something, mess with the different settings & see if it sounds good, sample it & chop it up.

Yea, some of the effects I never use & think why would I ever use that effect? But joining the battles, you're forced to get as much out of the sp as you can so you start trying new things. A lot of trial & error! A lot of experimenting!

It seems the slicer works best on loops/phrases over 1 shots.

& yes resample! Then add more effects! The more I dug into the effects & layering the effects the more I realized it's a great sound design tool.

It just takes time & a lot of experimenting to learn what effect combinations sound best & on what sounds. Some effects are better for certain sounds. Ect, ect
