I love STLNDRMS, I watch his videos non stop. I know he does everything in his mpc and uses the 404's for their FX. But every single track uses side chain compression. Or, a trick of some sort to get that same ducking with the kick drum. I've used compression on the 404sx. I honestly hate the way it makes the drums sound, It does give a fake side chain compression if your samples are lower in volume and the kick is louder. I'm just curious if anyone on here has an idea of how he is getting such a clean kick drum sound and side chain compression with the 404's?

he runs everything thru a 303 actually. generally he has his vinyl sim compression all the way up.
