so i recently picked up a tascam porta 02, and i've been pretty excited about recording through it. when i go to plug in headphones, however, i hear a bunch of fuzz that changes along with the volume knob. when i realized this, i tried plugging in the line out to my mixer instead, and noticed that the fuzz was, for the most part, gone.
would this just be because the jack is dirty? the volume knob was super crackly when i got it, so dirty jacks probably wouldn't be out of the question. if anyone has any tips on how to fix this, that would be tight.

Could just need a pot spray or maybe some soldering.

Yup, definitely dirty pots. The DP02 is 10 years old and short lived to usher in the DP03. Surely someone did abused the hell out of it.
Deoxit spray to clean it, then a spray of some dielectric grease to keep corrosive particles and dirt out permanently.
