"ERR" message and other questions!

Hello,
I just bought a 2nd-hand SP-303 with a 16MB original memory card and an optional 64MB card (3.3V) from another retailer.
When I try to look at the fimware version, after saying "VER" and "1.03", the machine is flashing "CDR" "ERR" "0".
I can't find any documentation about this error.. What is that exactly?

(I reset everything, from the entire SP-303 to the internal memory to the external memory but the problem remains.
I tried with the two memory cards but the problem is still there.
If I try to copy samples from my computer to the SP-303, it seems to work, anyway).

What can I do?

Also, is it normal that when I load new samples from my computer to the SP-303 via memory card, I load them in a bank (let, say, "A"), i mess around with sounds then I turn off the machine.. When I turn it on again everything is lost and I have to re-load the samples from scrath to the internal memory etc..?
