OG SP-404 Sampling Question

Post by Pagkadalisay »

Hello everyone. I am a beginner year-old music producer who is looking into getting an OG 404. I do not have the necessary budget for the SX so I am more inclined to get the cheaper OG.

I do not sample from the vinyl because we really do not have a vinyl store here in where I live. How badly do I want to but my desire to create beats is greater than this.

The only way that I can get samples is through my laptop, just like how I did with my Maschine.

I have two questions:

1) Is it possible to get .wav or .mp3 (whatever the format) samples into an OG 404 straight from my computer? If so, how can I get this done?

2) Is it possible to run the OG 404 without an external audio interface? I also do not have the budget yet to get one.

I will appreciate any response. Thank you.

Yeah you can put wav files on a Compact Flash card and import them from there. Keep in mind that you can sample anything that you send into your unit, which means you could also play songs from your computer and sample from there instead of tediously slicing it up with some editing software.
And you can use your SP without an external audio interface, as long as you plug in anything like headphones, speakers or just route it into the mic input of your computer. Hope that clears it up for you.
