Using sp404sx as outboard fx in ableton

Hey all,
I've already read the available posts on the subject and watched a video on youtube but nothing has helped.
I've tried using the external audio effect tool and also creating a return track routed to an audio track.
Since neither have worked I believe it's a hardware issue with my cords. I've attached two pictures that show how I'm routing my cords. Is there something wrong with my set up (inputs or outputs)? My interface only has one stereo main out as you can see.
