I was sure it was gonna come with one, but nope, now I have a useless SP 808. It seems to work fine but without a zip drive it seems I can't do anything.
Is it possible to run the 808 without a zip?
Where can I find some zip cards?

If you upgrade to the 808EX operating system you can use the effects. For sampling you will still need a zip disk.

to upgrade your SP-808 OS to the Sp-808ex OS is mad easy and worth doing.
BUT... you will need a Zip250 or Zip750 drive on your 808. And yes you do need a Zip disk to use the 808.
