For the sake of the resample challenge, I will be coming up with all of the new challenges. If you have a problem with it....say something. I will also be modifying the duration of the challenge from two weeks to one week.

Voted for asha; it was a good track that could have been great but it needed more reverb and less glitch. Would have voted for reid but he used outside drums.

EDIT: let me rephrase this, cause I'm not trying to b agro towards u for ur suggestion. I just don't think it's in the best interest of the forum in general to change things up like that. In the spirit of the arena, the winner should continue being the person to choose the next sample(s). I don't think it makes any sense for a single user to take over this responsibility.

This resample challenge seems like a normal challenge without outside sounds. Anyone who wins a round of the normal weekly battle can throw out the "no outside samples" rule.

Its nothing like a regular challenge. First, there is no outside samples, period, it's been a rule since the beginning. Second, you can use only one sp. Third, there is no outside gear (samplers, DAW, effects unit, etc.)

Also, no offense, but I haven't seen you participate in a resample challenge yet. I think the only people who have a say are the people who continually, despite its lack of popularity, participate each time.

If u go back far enough in the challenges u will see that they all used to b "resample" challenges. Check who participated in those homie.

I created the resample challenge! AND hosted its first battle! Perhaps I'm somewhat qualified to be the one to "say something"...

I assume you have already PMd the tied winners, because in August of last year you PMd me, asking me why I hadn't posted anything new after winning #16, and I explained that I was busy so I said go ahead, do the honors. If not for that exchange, what you're doing right now would be attempting to host the your 4th (!) resample battle without winning any of the previous ones.

Sure, it can be frustrating waiting for the next one to start. I started this challenge because I wasn't feeling the rules of the normal battles at the time. Outside everything was being allowed, which is not to my taste. I wanted to hear people really pushing the SP to the limits with very little to work with. Of course not everyone is interested in this idea. Turning a 5-second youtube clip into a song is not everyone's cup of tea: thus less traffic for this kind of thing. But even when I hated the sample or it was taking too long, I didn't jump in and say "I don't like this, now here's how it's gonna be"

Instead, I would suggest asking the rest of the SP-Community what should be done with a list of suggestions and a poll to decide in the freedom of speech section (where this thread should be) before deciding to take over. You may want to start sending prizes through the mail out of your own pocket if you insist on hosting every battle, because what is the point of entering if at the very least you can't even have a say in how the next one goes?

If there were any truth to that then there would be a oppurtunity to self reflect. But since there isnt......regardless i respect kel thats why im not pursuing this any further. Take a look in the mirror, haveing a respectful conversation dosent make me a "masturbator", calling people names does. If I was being disrespectful Kel he would have said so.
