555 vs 404
yo question. is it pointless to get 555 if i have a 404? what kinda sounds does 555 give?
Re: 555 vs 404
i own both. I currently use my 555 only to store full songs because i prefer working on the 404 BUT i'll never get rid of her for the mfx B-5 alone. Lo-fi compressor. i use that in all my tracks.
Another couple things that are useful in the 555 that the 404 lacks are
roll function (note repeat)
4 more pads
loop capture
ext source combined input if you have guitars/xlr mics and other gear you use
metronome dedicated button (i often use the 555 metronome while resampling drums in the 404)
didn't bother messing with the effect memory feature yet but i can see it being kinda useful in a live environment.
obviously there are all the huge benefits of owning 2 or more sps:
you can sample the pattern sequencer of the first sp in the other
you can sample from the first sp in the second avoiding the poliphony limit (this means you can play all the 12 pads of the 404 set on stereo if you want)
more effects to play with, some effects are different and some are unique to each sp. (reverb is different, overdrive is different // lofi-comp is unique, amp sim is unique, reverse effect is unique, step filter is unique, step ring mod is unique, super filter is unique)
you can use 2 effects at a time by sampling the first sp in the second and using the effect on the line in of the second sp.
hope this is clear, you choose. enjoy!

Re: 555 vs 404
thanks man, helped a lot! i was also really temped to get a 303 to play into from my 404.
Re: 555 vs 404
Before 555, I was using 404 but my personal experience was not good enough. I have got best college paper writing services and than compared every pro and con of the 404 and 505 and concluded that the later one is the best. The supremacy of 505 is undeniable.
