Here is how I am using my 606 and logic express 8. If you have another way you are using it, please add to this post. I am also using the 606 as my sound card for my setup. The reason the 606 is a slave is because I cannot figure out how to get the freaking transport controls (play, stop, back, forward, record) to work within Logic. I have spent a couple of hours fooling with it, only to come up with a workaround. If there is a way, please post it here. Anyway, I use my axiom 61 transport buttons to make moves. Anyhow, down to bizzness.
To set your 606 as slave in logic-
In Logic, go to Prefrences-Click on the "Sync tab" then go to midi sync project settings. Under Transmit midi clock for destination 1, pick the 606, as it should be an option.
On the 606, press FNC + pad 11 to bring up the midi prefrences. Change Sync mode to slave. Now everything should be synced up. Press play on logic or another midi controller that you have mapped with the transport commands and everything should communicate.
Then to set the 606 as the sound card-
On logic go to Preferences-and select the 606 as the device.
Then on the 606 go to USB audio and midi from the menu and change the output source to mix. Now you should be able to record back into logic from the 606.
How r u using Logic express 8 & 606? I use it like this.
