Hello!!
I have SP404sx and I've made a few beats on a SD card using the pattern sequencer. Every time I try to record from the 404 to my computer using an interface the sound either comes out distorted or doesn't work at all.
I have a Scarlett Solo interface and I'm using Audacity (which i suspect might be the problem...) Does anyone know any tips? I have logic but i can't figure out how to record to it...
Thank you!!

Re: PROBLEMS RECORDING ONTO LAPTOP!!!
can you give a Little more info please? how you hooked it up? Is the Interface active in the audacity Software under Settings? Audacity itself won't be the Problem i think.
btw i think the scarlett solo only records in mono.
so you plug your Outputs of the SP into the Line Input of the solo with a cable like this? then it should be possible to adjust the volume of the sp and the Input of the scarlett until you're satisfied with the volume. if not i don't know...

I tried audacity with focusrite 2i2 with no luck. ASIO isnt supported by audacity afaik, so you will need a DAW or similar to record (with my particular interface at least). You can record with rca to 3.5mm cord straight into computers mic in but quality will suffer.

I've recorded from my SP's using multiple interfaces into Audacity hundreds of times (PC and Mac). Does your interface have a phono/line selector? Pay attention to your levels and make sure you're not clipping.
Also the solo only has one phono input and one XLR input meaning you 'CAN' get it to do stereo, but you'd need an XLR adapter. If you are only plugging into the phono input it's going to be MONO.
