High capacity compatibility

My friend is looking into purchasing a 404 after he saw mine and was wondering if a high capacity card would work for it.

I think roland has max. MB recommendations in terms of cards. It could work but might be unstable for the OS to handle, which could lead to losing patterns and samples possibly.
