Patterns & MIDI syning

Post by staxas »

I recently bought an Electribe Rhytm and now have it hooked up to my SP-303 and my MicroKorg with the Electribe sending the timecode to the other devices. When hitting play on the Electribe the pre-selected pattern on the SP-303 plays in perfect sync, but when changing patterns in mid play you have to be very precise to stay on the beat. Does anyone know how to select a pattern during play and have it start on the beginning of the next loop of the master timecode device? Or do I have to keep hitting stop & start? Ive seen the damn thing do it once (Im pretty sure of this) but Ive never been able to recreate this situation. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
The future is now!

I don't use midi too often and never with the 303, but I'm almost certain you can have midi cc notes control the pattern triggering. All I can recommend is going to the S.P.I section and take a long look at the manual, it should all be there. To my knowledge there isn't a special trick to make it receive midi.
I sure someone hear knows midi a little better than myself. Good Luck
