404 and MPD24 Setup

Just bought a 404 a few weeks ago and this may be an incredibly dumb question but would I benefit from connecting my 404 to the MPD through a MIDI cable or would nothing happen?

there are some threads about midi-pad-Controller x 404.

i got a korg padkontrol and can use it with all my samplers...

it adds velocity sensitive pads (only usable in sequencer mode, not resampling) and probably Roll/Flam (don't know the Features of the mpd24)

but you'll Need a power Adapter for the MPD btw
