What am i missing??!?!? Sp404+turntable+mixer. HELP!

Hi guys...

I own a Sp404 and the classic Numark PT-01 turntable. I bought a mixer (numark m2) in order to "improve" the turntable quality (cuz it sounds better if i connect it to the mixer rather than connecting it directly into the SP404, right?). The monitors are conected to the Master output of the mixer.

THE PROBLEM IS:

· Turntable connected to the mixer ch1
· Sp404 connected to the mixer (RCA in and out to the mixer)
· Monitors connected to the mixer.

If i record from my sp i dont get any sound from the turntable. I dont know what i am missing or doing wrong... Any comment would help...
