Anyways I'm out now. I'm not hip-hop - nothing against it, I'm just not. I'm an avant-garde performance artist with too many beats. And my sh*t will blow your pads right off. You might call most of it too fast, but you'll probably like a lot of it anyways.
But if you love SP's, if you use them live or in a live-ish manner, if you're into performance techniques then I got a lot to offer you. Some of my videos cover SP techniques (many top secret) and I'm compiling more, into a "Pad Banger's Dojo" of kung-fu.
I do 3 to 5 live streams a week, most of them full of beats and featuring my 202 and 404 extensively. As I said, I don't flip beats - they're improvisational performances. Still, people seem to like em. I'd love it if some of the SP community checked them out.
And if you're one of the few Lo who aren't working in traditional musics but instead in outsider sh*t like avant-garde and performance art, PLEASE let's do hook-up. I'm hoping to help bring Lo (and its fringes) into the streaming thing - a lot of what we do is best appreciated when seen live. Programming a beat on a computer is one thing, but compared to Beatjitzu stripping-down a beat live from a backwards Kung-Fu movie it's musical masturbation.
I want to emphasize this, peoples: If you got a webcam and sampler, turn em both on at the same time and point them at YouTube or Twitch or whatever, show them this is quite a bit beyond what ProTools users do. It's performance, man.
PS, forum admins: "Ask a member for access" is the very definition of a clique. I'm hesitant to even participate and probably won't post more. Maybe the SP community has moved, I don't know - like I say I'm outsider.
I probably won't enter your beat battles, either, as I'm sure they're likely to work out to "hip hop" battles. But if you just want technical and creative excellence, you'll find both in any of my 150+ live-footage videos.
