Does anyone have this interface? Just received it as a gift and I was wondering if there's any should-do's and don'ts.

Pretty straight forward interface so I think you'll be good to go.
If you're not sure what the difference is between "LINE" and "INST" inputs then take 28 seconds to figure that out by scanning the below:
