sp 808 humming

after a 202, a 404 and a 606 (that i`m currently selling) i thought i could get a 808... and i got one for ~100eur.

but my unit has a slight hum, you can hear it if you put the ear close to the fx knobs (or somewhere in that area). it`s not in the speakers, it comes from the unit itself (there is also a slight hum in the headphones, audible after 50% volume)

i don`t know if i should say hum or noise, it`s somewhere in between.. but it`s a buzzing sound and i don`t know if it`s normal... do your units have the same sound? could it be that the zip drive spins all the time inside? because there`s a different sound when the zip is being read...


i have to say that this noise is not very disturbing, i can hear it if i`m in a quiet room... but i can hear it and it`s worrying me, i had a lot of gear and they never made such sounds. could there be a cooler inside? (i didn`t open it up yet)
