copying or recording pattern to resample?
anyone know of a way to take a pattern from the sequencer and either copy it or record it onto a pad in order to be able to resample it? i know this can be achieved using an external sequencer but was wondering if there is a way to do it without, just using the sp.

I've been using a Zoom H4 to record/resample with. It's not the most fluid flow but it gets the job done.

@OP, actually I tried resampling MIDI-in and I could not get it to work.
What I personally do for that kind of task is use a walkman then feed it back into the unit. If you have a decent tape and overdrive the audio a little bit, you can get nice analog saturation that way too and it's just naturally in your process.
If you dig that sort of thing. 404's resampling is probably the biggest let down, but it's mitigated by the fact that resampling (and sampling itself) are so damn quick, you eventually don't even think about it. You just 'do stuff'.

If you mean you'd like to get different effects on the whole pattern then you could just use effect limit, unless you're talking about having the whole complete pattern as one single pad then you might need another sp to do this, or even record it all to a multitrack daw or whatever and then record it back into the sp with master effects maybe?

effect limit? how do you do that?
i turned on effect limit mode but not all of the effects i triggered affected the pattern. not sure if im doing something wrong...

Refer to this video unless you already know how to do the ghetto track mute on the sequencer. You'd do this same process only instead of using subsonic or isolator to cancel pads, you could add whatever effects you want. Hopefully this helps!

i remember watching that a long time ago but forgot. thats dope!
not as powerful as resample but at least theres a way to get effects on a pattern, even if it's only limited to one.
I have a technics stereo cassette deck ive been meaning to put to use so i can dump patterns into and back onto a pad. not familiar with how analog levels work or the different functions on the deck...
