how to tell if your cf card is compatible with an mpc500?
Im using a boss roland cf card and trying to format it on the 500 and it won't recognize it and freezes when i go to the load screen to format it...is it a bent pin or a bad card?The card works on my pc and the pins don't seem bent...i mean the card fits fine and comes out fine...

Do you have a couple other CF cards you can try? That's the only way you can find out. When I bought a 500 off ebay, the dude gave me like 12 2gb-4gb cards, haha so I lucked out. Some did not work though and the 500 would display weird characters and freeze up.
