***Bit Crushed Beat Tape Vol. 1 (video game breaks)***
Hey guys,
Wanted to let you guys know about an instrumental beat tape collaboration thing featuring a bunch of artists from around the world...
Check it out:
Bandcamp:
http://fluidbreaks.bandcamp.com/album/b ... tape-vol-1
Datpiff if you prefer:
http://www.datpiff.com/Various-Producer ... 23633.html
And last but not least... the article on BBOY Tech Report about the project:
http://bboytechreport.com/2014/06/24/bi ... me-breaks/
If you are a member over at mpc forums you might recognize some of the names, and some of them are also members here as well... it isn't a forum members only project...
***********************
Anyhow, we are starting to accept submissions for a volume 2 right now and if anyone feels like contributing a beat, that would be awesome. It will be a similar thing to volume 1. If you are interested in being a part of the next installment then continue reading.
Here are some of the guidelines:
-video game theme, inspiration, etc... sample a game, compose game sounding instrumentation, use game sound fx... anything. If it has the vibe.. it fits the project theme.
-WAV files please... This is preferred over MP3 files. 24bit is better than 16bit.. but either will do. 128kbps mp3s are not really appreciated.
-don't squish a song that blasts at +6db down to 0db... try and keep it civil, I will compress the project if needed. Limiting and that is fine, but not to the point that I can't match it with the rest of the songs. (IE: please try not to do too much hard limiting)
-tracks should be 2 to 3 minutes... not 5 to 7 minutes.
-we want hip hop or some variant. No rock tracks, no deep house tracks, etc... but send it over... if it fits the bill we'll try and put it on the project.
-Let me know your artist name you want to be listed as on the project. Let me know the song title you chose as well... I have to mention this just in case it isn't clear on the file itself. Also, if you have a soundcloud or a website... let me know it too... that way it can be listed on the page or if someone asks.
-instrumentals please... cuts are fine, some stylistic stuff etc... but not full rap songs. Keep in mind that because these are instrumentals songs (not just blank beats) you should do some variations to keep it interesting. We don't want people skipping the beat 10 seconds in because it doesn't go anywhere.
-use any gear you want... MPCs, DAWs, SPs, it doesn't matter.
I am guessing you could PM me your beats on here.. maybe upload it to sendspace or something like that and send me the link....
Thanks guys and sorry for the long thread.
