DELAY & EXIT SOURCE QUESTION!!!!

Hey guys, i got two questions..

1. I have my sp404 hooked up to my mixer and turntables through the effects send and receive on my mixer. I can make all the effects work for the song I'm playing BUT the volume on the sp404 peaks unless the volume is barely on for the channel when the exit source is on and sounds really blared. Does anyone know a way around this or how to fix it??

2. Is there ANY way to change the bpm on a file in the sp404 without making it sounds like its quivering/choppy???

after hitting Ext Source, hit Start/End/Level...when this is lit up you can use knob 3 to alter the volume level of your Ext Source

I had tried that b4 it still sounds distorded just not as loud, it doesnt peak anymore but it still sounds distorted unless i have the volume on the channel from the mixer barely on. i cant really use it like that. is there any other way??
