HOW TO CUT THE NEEDLESS REST OF A SAMPLE ? DISCARD

.. I've checked the manual over and over but I didn't find a way to discard a sample .. (so it is called on the mpc) I just want to cut the rest of a sample... the part outside of the "marked" region....

I can't describe it easier...

but I guess ya understand...

press Del, then press Mark (which will be lit up)
the screen will then say Trc (i think) for Truncate

is that what you mean?

You need to trim the fat, but don't trim the phat! I've also noticed that a lot of samples I encounter have some dead air at the begining. It's not much, just a fraction of a second, but that little bit can be annoying when the sample doesn't go on immediately.

There's another way to trim that gives you more fine control. Hit the [Start/End/Level] button and turn knobs 1 and 2 to edit the start and end points, respectively, in small increments (milliseconds). Hit the button again to apply the changes. Repeat as necessary. If you accidentally go too far, you can turn the knobs the other way so that the display shows a negative value, so you can "back up".

I was just looking for DEL+MARK... but thanx anyway !!!
