Yamaha (MG124C) mixer experiences...

I just ordered this bad boy for a nice price.
This will be my first 12 channel mixer



Finally gonna hook up my 303, Vestax 05pro, 3 turntables, my PSP on the ins and send all these to my PC through the ins on my Saffire soundcard. I'm not experienced with the routing (sends/returns) but I assume this device will give me enough possibilities. I hope I can send anything from the 303 into my DAW and the other way around quickly without any hassle.

I was wondering how the experiences are with Yamaha mixers and in particular mixers such as these. How do you use yours?

i have the cousin of this, the mg102c, i used to use it with many machines, now i don't use it no more except for live. i bought a soundcard with some more ins, and i plug machines/instruments directly, even if the 102c is transparent, but i prefer to separate tracks, to mix better.
but, as i said, i use it for live...

Allright I see what you mean.

My soundcard got a couple of ins/outs as well. But I got too many gear floating around that I'm not using because the whole eq'ing/leveling and assigning of these signals annoys me when I gotta use the mouse to get stuff running.

I see it has it's own compressors. They make me curious.

Off course it's advertisement but still sounds like a usefull enhancement. Would be nice to boost up my samples straight away through the mixer. Offcourse the 303 got it locked down, but still..
