features on the 606?

Post by Hot Sauce »

i was thinking of copping a 606 to work with my 404. now i know it has auto-chop and only a 4-track sequencer (doesn't really bother me) but does it have that feature like on MPCs where lets say you have a piano sample you can automatically assign it to all the pads so it does a scale?

oh yeah and in europe a 606 goes for as much as an MPC 1000

If the 606 is the same price as the mpc 1000 I would cop the mpc, since you already have the 404. No the 606 doesnt scale the samples at least not the machine, the software might but I am not sure.

avoid the mpc1000; would be my advice. the 2000, 3000, 4000 are seemingly quality units but anything by 'numark presents wakai' SUCKS. that's my take on it. i am in the process of selling my 1k right now. with that cash i will get another sp and a padkontrol. peace.

I copped mine second hand in excellent condition for less than half of what MPC1000's go for here... If you're looking for new SP-606s.. then yeah, that's probably a different story, but I thought Roland stopped making them.
